Save Our Seas Workshops
Researchers from Newcastle University joined us for a special series of workshops with our Year 7 and 8 students entitled ‘Save our Seas’. Students were given a variety of marine organisms to learn about before being challenged to design a predator that could hunt them. They were then introduced to the idea that the greatest threat for these animals comes not from their natural predators but damage to their ecosystems caused by human activity. From pollution, micro plastics and over-fishing to global warming, students learned about the challenges marine life activists face in trying to preserve the incredible diversity of our seas.
