Battlefields Tour 2018
History students embarked upon the annual trip to the Battlefields of World War I and II visiting Ypres in Belgium, Albert, Arras and Vimy in France to experience the poignant war memorials and actual battlefields – they were astonished by the size of the Tyne Cot Cemetery which has over 12,000 commonwealth soldiers buried there.
Students visited Lochnagar Crater Memorial where Year 10 girls organised a collection to donate to the charity which runs the site. The girls are using this money to pay for two plaques that will go onto the memorial boards. Pupils were fantastic and represented their school to a very high standard.
