Former Students at the Houses of Parliament
We were delighted to hear that two of our Year 11 students from last year were invited to the Houses of Parliament in London to speak to MPs on the Education Select Committee about their experiences of careers education in school and also their current pathways as apprentices after leaving school. James Benson was able to sit around the table in the Houses of Parliament alongside students of all ages from around the country and was invited to give his views on why he decided to go down the apprenticeship pathway and his experiences of his apprenticeship. He was also accompanied on the day by Oliver Schofield who also attended the event alongside their parents. This meeting was all part of the Department for Education’s review of Careers Education and Guidance in schools and colleges.
