We were delighted to welcome Michael Longhi to deliver the Channel 4 ‘4Schools’ programme to our Year 7 students. The 4Schools programme promotes a wide range of opportunities to students within the creative media sector. Students in Year 7 were welcomed with a presentation about careers in media, followed by a practical workshop called “Have A Go”. In the workshop, students were tasked with creating an advert for their own TV programme in small groups. Students also learned about different careers in the media sector and how a programme goes from the idea stage to production. There were some amazing ideas created by our Year 7, many to rival the current TV programmes, and students with the best campaigns were rewarded with exclusive 4Schools water bottles.
