Remembrance Day 2022
Every year, as a mark of respect, we take a pause to remember those who have given their lives for our freedoms. There were special Remembrance assemblies each morning, where students were able to explore this year’s theme which is Remembrance and Service. At the end of the assembly, we paused for reflection before our own Combined Cadets Force laid wreaths on behalf of the school community. On Friday 11th November, Armistice Day, at 11am the whole school joined together to hear the playing of the Last Post followed by a 2-minute silence. Students then watched a special presentation of images to give time to reflect on why it is important to remember. During form activities, students had the opportunity to explore the importance of remembering those who contribute to the various services who give their time to protect and look after us, including the Armed Forces, Emergency Services, Healthcare services and many more.
