Sound Study with Southmoor Scholars

The scholars ended their half term with a lecture delivered by Newcastle University, looking at music. Students practiced their active listening skills, thinking about how different musical elements – volume, key, instruments – affect the atmosphere created and the audience’s response. We applied this to a range of examples, from the background music in David Attenborough documentaries, to a recording of Les Miserables.
