Positive Note Sharing
During assemblies, Mrs Mellefont and the Peer2Peer mentors talked to our students about the types of support that are available in school to help with mental health. This includes speaking to a Peer2Peer mentor every morning break in room B2 and our school nurses who come into school every Tuesday. There is also a range of online mental health support including Kooth and Tootoot. Finally students were able to watch a short video about the power of ‘positive noticing’ and how it is important to positively recognise each other through acts of kindness. In form activities, students explored the difference between mental health and mental illness, the barriers people might face when asking for help and they were reminded again about the sources of support available. Pupils also had the chance to write each other kind messages on luggage tags before sharing them with each other over break time.
