K-Pop Comes to Southmoor

On Tuesday, we were delighted to welcome into school the boyband dearALICE. The band formed in 2024 and featured on the BBC ONE series ‘Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience’. This TV series followed the band members as they completed a one-hundred day long intense training programme in South Korea. The band have recently released their debut song ‘Ariana’ and last year performed on a results show for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
One of the band members is from Sunderland and used to come to Southmoor for drama lessons when he was younger. The band performed for our Year 7 and 8 students and then spoke to students about important issues when growing up, including body image, mental health and aspirations. Students then had chance to ask questions to the band members about their journey and their experiences on TV. Finally, the band gave autographs at the end of their presentation.
