Year 10 Drive into Engineering at Nissan

On Thursday 2nd October, twelve Year 10 students had the opportunity to take part in an exciting engineering trip to Nissan. The visit began with a practical challenge to design and build wind-powered cars, which encouraged teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Each group tested their designs against one another, and after a tense set of races, our group was delighted to come out on top and win the challenge.
This was followed by a fascinating tour of the Nissan factory, where we were able to see the production line in action and watch how cars are carefully built step by step. It was eye-opening to witness the combination of advanced technology, precision engineering, and teamwork that goes into producing vehicles on such a huge scale. The trip was not only enjoyable but also inspiring, giving us a real insight into the world of engineering and manufacturing, and showing us the potential career opportunities that could be available in the future.
