Year 10 Work Experience Launch

This year we are giving all of our Year 10 students the opportunity to complete a work experience placement in June 2023. Work Experience is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn about the world of work, to put into practise important employability skills, and to try out some possible job roles to see if this is something they would like to do in the future. Mr Wareham introduced students to the Work Experience procedure, and they were given letters to take home from their Personal Development teachers. There are two important letters – one is a parental consent form which should be returned as soon as possible to the Careers Hub. The second letter is the Placement Form – this should be returned to school once a placement has been secured as it contains details from the employer. The absolute final deadline for the return of placement forms is Friday 12th May.

The earlier that placement forms are returned, then we can start Health & Safety checks as soon as possible. Copies of the letters and other important information about Work Experience can be found on our dedicated page on the school website. Students should also watch out for announcements on ClassCharts as the Careers/Progression team will be actively sourcing some placements from our contacts – these will be on a first come, first served basis.
