Art that’s Out of this World
Visual Artist and ESERO-UK Space Ambassador Helen Schell visited Southmoor to give a class of Year 9 creatives the opportunity to create a Mars Village in support of Space Week and as part of their current architecture project. The lesson included information about the, past, present, and future plans for Mars exploration. Students were challenged to use their STEM skills to utilise recycled materials and build models of a transportable habitat suitable for an expedition to the red planet. Our students had a fantastic time, working in teams to create all sorts of wild and wacky habitats. Thank you to Helen for joining us to share your input and experience with our students.
