Information Regarding Strike Action

The National Education Union (NEU) have planned a series of strike dates that will affect our school’s ability to open fully. The next date that will affect us is:

Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th March 2023

There is no requirement for the NEU to inform us which members of staff will be on strike but we have been informed that we can reasonably expect approximately a third of teaching staff to be unavailable.

It is important to note that the action is not against Southmoor Academy or the Aspire North East Multi Academy Trust.

On Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th March 2023, we will replicate the plans we put in place for the previous strike dates with some important modifications, summarised in this letter recently sent out to parents.

For further information on how to access Microsoft Teams for any remote learning that is taking place, please refer to this page.

All plans have been made with reference to the DfE guidance document ‘Handling Strike Actions in schools.’ Plans for future strike days will be communicated nearer the time.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and continued support.
