Year 7 students got their first big taste of music and performance at Southmoor by joining special guests and instrumental teachers as part of The Sunderland Music Hub’s Music Week. We separated pupils into our very own orchestra sections, including violins, drums, trombones and more, to have a go at recreating the classic piece ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ by Edvard Grieg. Pupils had a fantastic time, with many enjoying handling a musical instrument for the very first time. You can see how they go on in the video below!
