We celebrated World Book Day with a range of activities in school. During assemblies, Mrs Armstrong and the English department spoke to students about the importance of reading and why ‘picking up a book’ is really beneficial for everyone. Reading for pleasure is something that we encourage every week during tutor time. In addition to this, our Reading Suite is used every morning with help from our very generous Sixth Formers!
Students were also informed that they will be given a QR code which enables them to purchase a book for £1. During form activities, students had the opportunity to find out the names of some of the favourite books of members of staff and how reading for pleasure can be fun.
