Welcome to Year 10

Last week we held our ‘Introduction to Year 10 Evening’ to support pupils and their carers as they made the important move from Keystage 3 to Keystage 4. This included what to expect as students make the shift towards more intensive preparation for their GCSEs as well as what to expect from coursework and examination and chosen option subjects. There was also a focus on discussing the ideals of ‘marginal gains’ and ‘growth mindset’ to help our young learners on their learning journey through this keystage. Finally, as always, there was enphasis on attendance. With only 139 school days left until they hit Year 11, there is extra importance in making everyday count and that can only be done when students are in school, in class and maximising their learning through lesson time. You can find this week’s presentation on this topic here or by visiting our Keystage 4 revision hub.
