Year 9s had a morning full of virtual HE activities run by FutureMe. We were welcomed by Ashton, who introduced us to the concept of budgeting. For example – which house to get? Do you get Sky? Do you buy a car or walk everywhere? Students then designed their own HE institutions, which included a castle in Yorkshire and a university with a history time machine. This was followed by a virtual tour of two universities – Teesside and Northumbria – to learn more about different campuses. After break, students competed on a picture quiz to learn about student life, and consolidated their knowledge with a big HE quiz. We now know about different post-18 routes, including university, college and apprenticeships.
