We were delighted to welcome back Barrie McDermid a former English teacher, Consultant and Examiner and what some pupils call the ‘Punctuation Man’. Barrie has been visiting schools for many years with his unique and entertaining shows based around English Skills. Our Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed a rendition of Barrie’s ‘Punctuation Show’ a unique combination of comedy, a rock concert and a (literally) all-singing, all-dancing literacy lesson to engage pupils and help them understand, remember and apply key English skills, such as punctuation and grammar. Our pupils came out of the show with huge smiles on their faces as Barrie’s infectious passion and enthusiasm for English rubbed off on them and left them enthused about good grammar.
