Tennis & Rounders Stars

We took an enthusiastic group of Year 7 & 8 students to a summer sports competition at Sunderland’s Puma Centre. All girls participated in tennis and rounders tournaments and improved their skills and confidence in all areas of the games. We played and won games against Monkwearmouth, Farringdon, Oxclose, Castleview, St Roberts and St Anthonys and it was great to see our pupils back playing competitive sport.

Our expert tennis players; Izzy Hunt, Joanna Russell & Laura Vesele proved difficult to beat in the tennis competition and our enthusiastic Year 7s; Imilia Young, Hattie Jones, Alexandra Wood, Amy Statham Anderson & Ruby Currer, were very effective in both batting & fielding in rounders.

After both competitions were over, we placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the tennis competition and overall 2nd in the Rounders. Well done to all involved, you were a credit to yourselves and the school.
