Last Wednesday saw our under 16 basketball team compete in the Northeast regional basketball finals. This was following a very successful Sunderland competition just before February half term. Our combined team of Year 10s and 11s attended the event at the Newcastle Eagles’ Arena and alongside St Aidan’s represented Sunderland against teams from Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside and South Tyneside.
The team competed very well against some other excellent teams and did the school proud! They were unlucky not to finish in the medal positions. The whole team thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing in the arena though and with the nice bonus of having the Newcastle Eagles team training on the court next to them!
