Southmoor Set the Gold Standard

We are delighted to announce that following a completion of a self-review tool and a verification visit by an external visitor to our school, Southmoor Academy has achieved the GOLD level of the National SMSC Quality Mark – the highest level that can be achieved. This award reflects all of the amazing opportunities that our students benefit from here at Southmoor to develop Spiritually, Morally, Socially and Culturally. The report recognises our holistic and comprehensive approach to Personal Development and Careers Education from Year 7 through to Year 13. A group of students met with Sandra, our verifier, who highlighted that they all spoke articulately and with confidence about their experiences and they were clearly proud to be part of Southmoor. Sandra said that she really enjoyed spending time getting to know our school and the warm welcome she received. This award is valid for three years and is an amazing achievement for the whole school community unit.
