SMSC Theme of the Week

The annual national Anti-Bullying Week organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. The theme for this year is ONE KIND WORD. Mrs Cain and Mrs Harris talked to students in assemblies about this particular theme and how important it is to be kind to each other at all times. Students were also reminded about the Bullying Report function available on the school website where students can report incidents of bullying to their Heads of Year who can then support further. Year Leaders are always available to talk about any concerns.

In Form Activities, students have been discussing and agreeing on what their ‘ONE KIND WORD’ is for their whole Form Group. These words have then been displayed in classrooms around school. Finally, we hosted our ‘Odd Socks Day’ which is an annual event to recognise that everyone is different and unique and that we must respect each other’s individualities.
