Open Evening 2025

Southmoor’s Annual Open Evening proved to be another great success, drawing in large numbers of families keen to see what makes our school so special. The event gave us the perfect opportunity to share our ethos, celebrate our achievements, and show why Southmoor remains a top choice for parents across Sunderland.

Visitors were able to tour the whole school site, exploring classrooms, speaking with staff, and getting a real feel for life at Southmoor. Our student ambassadors played a huge part in welcoming guests, helping to create a friendly and vibrant atmosphere. With exciting activities, giveaways, and plenty of smiles, the evening was enjoyed by all.

If you couldn’t attend, you can still watch the highlights in the video below. Thank you to everyone who joined us – we hope to see many of you again as part of our Southmoor family.

A big congratulations to Praise from Valley Road Academy, who correctly guessed the name of our Southmoor bear. Praise collected Benjamin Bear from Southmoor on Thursday and took him to his new home. Well done!

For Year 6 parents, applications are now open. You can apply via the Sunderland School Places Application Page, with the preference window running until 31st October 2025.
