Mental Health Awareness Week

Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week and we challenged our students to spend seven days sharing acts of kindness, something that is all the more important in these difficult times. Some of our students did this via baking, others wrote about it whilst one even put together a power point! Other students told us about the acts of kindness  they took part in:

Emma Davies: “My brother, my parents and I all sat down and played monopoly and had snacks (My mum won.)”
Jamie Jarvis: “An act of kindness I have seen during the lockdown is the weekly clap for carers”
Sarah Lewis: “One act of kindness I have taken part in is that my family make some meals for my nana on Sundays as she can’t go outside. We have also got some gardening supplies so she can make sure her plants don’t die.”
Emily Howe: “The community and I have been drawing rainbows as a sign of thank you to the NHS.”
Thomas Doughty: “I’ve been joining everyone in clapping out  of
their windows to show appreciation to the doctors and nurses tackling Covid-19.”

Bradley Landers: “I have been kind by messaging my friends and asking how they are doing. One act of kindness I’ve received is people texting me asking how I’ve been doing.”
Kian Dalzell: “During the lockdown I’ve been making different stuff like fudge and cakes and then delivering them to my older relatives”
