For National Apprenticeship Week our theme in school was ‘Meet the Apprentice’ – an opportunity for students to learn more about the world of apprenticeships. Each day, we focussed on a particular sector – Construction, Travel, Tourism & Hospitality, Health, Care and Beauty, Engineering and Business, Finance and IT. The TV screens around school gave students information about these sectors and our Careers Bulletin was sent out daily with a focus on each sector. In Southmoor House, we hosted our first ever Apprenticeship Careers Fair – where a range of organisations attended to speak to our students about different apprenticeships, and the apprenticeship service were available to support with applications.
