Maths Moguls Make a Cracking Effort

Three teams of Year 7 maths students have entered amazing game designs into the Mangahigh ‘Cracking the Code’ competition. The ’Running Rectangles’, ‘Code Cracker’s’ and ‘Southmoor Squad’ have all designed games after deciding which area of maths they wanted to cover.  We are proud to announce that Southmoor Squad (Jack Short, Finley Bell, Joe Willis and Stuart Arthur) were chosen as one of ten finalists and will attend the final in London on 27th June!

Well done to all of the students that participated in the challenge. Students earned points on the website Mangahigh by completing maths related quizzes. Southmoor Academy came 9th overall in this challenge winning £100 for the school. In addition to this prize 15 students scored over 200 points in the challenge and have been awarded with a medal and a certificate!
