Make Your Mark Ballot
In form activities last week students had the opportunity to take part in a ballot as part of the annual ‘Make Your Mark‘ campaign organised by the UK Youth Parliament. In the ballot, students had the opportunity to vote for an issue that they felt is important to them and young people in the community. Each student was given an individual ballot slip to record their vote and these slips were then placed in a ballot box. The box will be collected by the Sunderland Youth Parliament and the vote will be counted. The top issues as voted by all of the young people in the city will then be taken by the Youth Parliament to their discussions in the House of Commons later in the year. There will also be an opportunity for our students to discuss the issues at the annual ‘State of the City’ debate at the City Hall.
