A group of students went to the Raich Carter Sports Centre on Tuesday evening after school for a hockey taster session provided by Sunderland Hockey Club. Students were given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the clubs training facilities and met some of the coaches and players.
Students were keen to get involved and particularly enjoyed the end zone games where they put all of their new skills into practice. They also saw all of the equipment needed by a hockey goal keeper to keep them safe and had a real life demonstration of why it was so necessary! Anyone who is interested in getting involved, Sunderland Hockey Club have sessions for juniors on Tuesday evenings 18.00pm-19.00pm and Saturday 9.00am-10.00am at the Raich Carter Sports Centre. No experience necessary!
