Girl’s Football Team Back in Action

This week we travelled to Houghton Kepier School to compete in the school of games football tournament. We arrived with our game faces on, ready to fight for a place in the semi-final and our players weren’t going down without a fight. In our first match we managed to score four unbelievable goals with Lexi Sutton scoring a hat-trick and Freya Philliskirk hitting one at the back of the net.

The team’s second match resulted in a respectable and well defended 0-0 draw. The third match we won 1-0 with Freya Philliskirk again bagging us another goal. Despite not being a goal keeper, throughout all three of our first matches Leoni Murray managed to keep three clean sheets, easily defending our goal from the other teams.

Our team played strong, unfortunately despite all of these amazing achievements we didn’t make it through the semi finals, and lost to Houghton Kepier School with a 2-0 finish. We played exceptionally well and all of the girls should be really proud of themselves.
