GCSE Results 2021

More GCSE Success at Southmoor Academy

We are so proud of all our students and staff as we celebrate their achievement in GCSEs today. It’s been an immensely difficult two years, and the fortitude, resilience, good humour and hard work shown by the Southmoor Academy community has been second to none. On Tuesday, we saw fantastic success at A Level, and today we were delighted to once again celebrate a great set of results for our GCSE students. 5 students achieved an extraordinary total of at least 7 GCSEs at Grade 9, while across the board the number of pupils achieving a good or strong pass at both Maths and English has exceeded all expectations.

  • Over a third of all students achieved the top grades (9-7) in English
  • Nearly a third of all students achieved the top grades (9-7) in maths
  • 45% of all students achieved the Ebacc
  • Over 85% of all students achieved a good pass in English
  • Over 80% of all students achieved a good pass in maths

With over half of our cohort having studied EBacc, more than ever are progressing into the sixth form at Southmoor, with the skills needed to succeed at A Level. Particular mention must go to Daniel Lewis, Jasmine Casey and Adil Hussein, who managed an astonishing 9 or more Grade 9s and are surely destined for future success.

Congratulations to all of our students, on their hard-earned results. Below are some of the pictures from an emotional morning.
