Creative Careers with Channel 4

We were delighted to be involved again with the Channel 4 ‘4Schools’ programme about Creative Careers. There will be several events taking place during the next few months. The first event was on Tuesday and Wednesday last week where Michael Longhi came into school to deliver workshops to our Year 7 students about Creative Careers. Michael worked with each Year 7 class individually who completed the ‘Have A Go’ workshop.

During this workshop, students had the opportunity to learn about what Channel 4 does, what types of roles are available with Channel 4, and then the students had to work in groups to think of ideas to create the next big series for Channel 4. Students then had to pitch their ideas to each other. There were some excellent ideas and clearly we have some budding creative students within our Year 7. Michael will be returning to school during National Careers Week and bringing some industry experts with him next time to answer questions from our Year 7 students. Year 8 will also get the opportunity to take part in workshops later this year.
