This week was British Science Week and on Tuesday, Adam and James from Kielder Observatory visited to get our students curious about space. All of our Year 7 classes were able to visit their mobile planetarium over the course of the day and spent some time looking at the constellations, even trying to guess what they looked like. James also spoke to our students about exciting areas of space research, including humans returning to the moon! Adam hosted some workshops with our Year 10 exploring the electromagnetic spectrum and how using different parts of this spectrum can help us identify features of exoplanets.
The visit sparked plenty of curiosity and gave students a fascinating insight into astronomy and the wonders of the night sky.
