The PE department were celebrating International Women’s Day through a range of activities in lessons last week. Students started by identifying inspirational women in sport, such as Serena Williams, Nicola Adams and Ellen MacArthur. Then, students learned about female sports coaches/leaders where they discovered that the percentage of female coaches has remained extremely low, however, work is being conducted to help increase the number of female coaches at Paris 2024 to 25%. Select pupils then worked in pairs to lead a warm-up to the rest of the class using task cards. Finally, we got involved with #letgirlsplay biggest ever football match and in total over 350 girls got involved!
