This week students were introduced to some maths related careers during their scheduled maths lessons. There was an emphasis on the four key Skills Builder skills which are a focus in Maths this year. These are: Listening, Problem Solving, Aiming High and Teamwork. Students studied two case studies which gave them an insight into what it’s like to work in a maths related career. At the end of the session students participated in two activities. One was a game of higher and lower which involved working as a team to determine which job carries a higher salary. They were also required to list as many job roles as possible in a set time in a game of A-Z, again working as part of a small team.
