An Outstanding Open Evening

This year’s annual open evening once again highlighted Southmoor’s appeal to parents, as they flocked to our doors eager to discover more about us. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our unique qualities and explain why we are one of Sunderland’s most popular schools.

This year, in order to help with the influx of visitors and to better showcase our wonderful school, we allowed pupils and parents access to our entire school site. Everyone had a delightful time exploring the subject areas and interacting with our dedicated staff who were aided by our enthusiastic student helpers. As always, pupils left with heaps of complimentary prizes along with broad smiles on their faces. If you missed out, don’t worry! You can watch a video highlight of the evening below.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Wednesday, we are looking forward to seeing many of you again if you decide to make Southmoor your choice. For parents of Year 6 students, the application process is now open. If you haven’t already, please click here to access the Sunderland School Places Application Page. The preference period is open now and runs until 31st October 2024.

Furthermore, we’d like to extend our hearty congratulations to Thomas Cornell from Barnes Juniors and Lily Annah Davis from Benedict Biscop who are the winners of our two main competitions being hosted on the night. We hope you enjoy your prizes!
