Air Cadets on the Up

Cadets from our Combined Cadet Force Section are flying high with two communications awards and several aerospace exam passes.

As part of a varied and exciting syllabus, cadets undertake several practical and theoretical subjects which entitle them to a BTEC in Aerospace Studies at the end of their CCF service. Several cadets are now one step closer to this excellent qualification, having passed the ‘Airmanship’ subject with an online exam.

In addition, Cadet Wallace and Cadet Devereux have recently completed their RAF basic radio operator award and are able to use different types of radios whilst on cadet activities or when assisting with events.

Southmoor Academy Combined Cadet Force is a part of the wider UK Cadet Forces with amazing opportunities such as flying, gliding and international exchanges available. They parade every Monday evening from 15:30 to 17:35 in Southmoor House.

If you’d like more information on SMA CCF, please visit the Section on a Monday evening or look out for the annual recruitment period, which is opening again soon!
