Sports Presentation Evening 2026

Our annual Sports Presentation Evening was a fantastic celebration of the dedication, commitment and achievements of our students across a wide range of sports and activities.

The evening brought together students, staff, families and guests to recognise outstanding performances throughout the year, including 24 Player of the Season awards, celebrating consistency, excellence and sportsmanship.

A special congratulations goes to our Year 9 Rugby Team, who were named Team of the Year following an impressive season of teamwork and success. Students were also recognised through a range of special awards, including Community Engagement, Rookie Lifeguard, Active8, Team Southmoor Leadership and the EmpowHER Initiative Award, highlighting leadership, inclusion and personal development through sport.

We were also pleased to welcome representatives from Sunderland Hockey Club and guest speaker Jodie Dodds, sports psychologist at Durham Cricket Club, who shared valuable insights into resilience, mindset and wellbeing in sport.

The evening concluded with Sports Personality of the Year, awarded to Heidi (Year 11), with  Emily (Year 10) and Luke (Year 9) as runners-up.

The event was a proud celebration of another successful year of sport at Southmoor, and we thank all staff, families and coaches for their continued support.
