A group of Year 9 students have spent three days taking part in the ‘Notice Your Nature’ project, a collaboration with Newcastle University and Durham Wildlife Trust. The project gave students the opportunity to learn about local wildlife and work with experts to explore biodiversity and conservation in their local area.
As part of the experience, students created nature-inspired artwork which will feature on a new public nature trail at Rainton Meadows. Their work will help visitors engage with and appreciate the natural environment in new and creative ways.
The nature trail will be officially unveiled at a launch celebration at Rainton Meadows on Monday 13th July, from 4:30–6:00pm, where the students’ contributions will be showcased.
