Last week, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service have been in to deliver Water Safety sessions in Year 7 Aspire lessons. These are highly valuable lessons where students hear from staff working on the frontline dealing with water based emergencies and accidents. Students are told the dangers of cold water shock, safe swimming practices and what to do if they find themselves or another person in trouble in or around bodies of water.
