Ofqual Announcement on GCSE and A Level Grades

Ofqual have just given further information about how GCSE and A-level grades will be calculated. The full details can be found on Ofqual website and in the letters to parents section of this week’s blog which we have linked here:

This information is relevant to all of the following qualifications
• GCSEs
• AS and A levels
• Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ)
• Advanced Extension Awards (AEA) in maths

Please note that this guidance DOES NOT apply to vocational and technical qualifications as yet:

We are awaiting further guidance from Ofqual with regard to the grading criteria for all vocational and technical qualifications.

The academy will submit data to the exam boards as requested. Please note, the final grades awarded to pupils will be determined by Ofqual and the exam boards; we do not have any control over the process that will be used. As a result, the academy will not be able to discuss individual grades with parents, carers or pupils.
