Year 7 are about to embark on an exciting experience in their drama lessons. As one of the National Theatre’s partner schools, Southmoor is lucky to be part of a project around their new production of Romeo and Juliet starring Josh O’Connor and Jessie Buckley. An exclusive intriguing wooden chest of props and other goodies was delivered to school. The drama department had an exciting time opening it and planning how we will use the contents in our lessons. Year 7 students will spend the next four weeks watching the production, performing excerpts of the text and designing their own props. They’ll even get to attend a mock Venetian masked ball, complete with refreshments and dancing! We can’t wait to get started! Watch the space for updates.
