Aspiring Young Poets

In October, Years 7 and 8 were invited to partake in a national competition hosted by Young Writers entitled ‘Empowered’. This annual competition has received over 12,000 entries this year and 23 of our students have been selected to have their work published in a book of poetry called ‘Empowered – Voices Of Youth’. The book will be available to purchase for £16.99 and is released on 14th January 2022. These students have so far been rewarded with a certificate and bookmark in celebration of their incredible achievement. The Young Writers’ five favourite writers will be confirmed next term where they will each win £100 and a trophy! The students are: 

Grace Winter, Maia Blackburn, Faith McCabe, Alfie Johnson, Mya Ellis, Amy Carling, Jaden Stevenson, Ania Barszczewska, Lexi-Grace Macleod, Arianne Avery, Nina Stewart, Charlie Scott, Daniel Webb, Harper Scott-Cousins, Elliott Brown, James Teasdale, Alfie Rhodes, Matthe Roeves, Evie Jenkins, Noah Callaghan, Roma Faulkner, Millie-Faye Robinson and Moraya Oladipo.
