Giving a Little

Mr Carter from our Sixth Form challenged lower school students to think of ways to raise money for our upcoming ‘Raising and Giving’ week. Raising and Giving Week will take part across the academy and is an initiative dreamed up by our Sixth Form student council. Each form group has been tasked with designing and running their own fundraiser at a break / lunchtime or across the week, demonstrating their outstanding leadership and team-working skills. There have already been some brilliant ideas so far, from classics such as ‘guess how many sweets in a jar’ to a sponsored swim and charity sports events! Students are welcome to bring some change with them to school each day to spend on the initiatives and/or to contribute with their hands by helping their peers to run these fundraisers or completing a challenge of their own!

All proceeds will go towards some amazing local charities, Red Sky Foundation, Love Amelia in Hendon and Local Salvation Army food banks

On the final day of the week, the 18th February, we are inviting students to wear red for Red Sky Foundation! In addition to their normal uniform students are welcome to wear a piece of red clothing (such as red socks, a red hat or a red jumper) with a voluntary donation that can be paid via parent pay or as students enter the school – there will be sixth form students stationed with buckets ready to collect any cash donations.

We are so proud of the plans that are already in place and look forward to all that is to come. As we all work together we hope to make a significant difference to the lives of local people by playing our part in supporting these charities.
