National Careers Week 2023

National Careers Week is an annual event in our school calendar. The theme this year is TOGETHER. During the week students had the opportunity to learn about different sectors with a daily focus, including Medicine, Education, Manufacturing and many more. In Personal Development lessons, students visited the Virtual Careers Fair to find out more about different pathways from a range of organisations. Staff displayed pledges on classroom doors to say what they would focus on during the week and wore yellow ‘Ask me about …’ badges to engage in careers conversations with students.

On Monday morning, a first for the school, we joined a school in Uganda, Africa, live to find out about education and careers over 6000 miles away. For the first time ever, Uganda is also celebrating National Careers Week so our students could talk virtually with young people in the country. We talked with students at Kawugeera C/U Primary School, nearly 70 miles from the capital city Kampala.
