Over the half term holiday, Mrs Zakaidze went out to Kenya for the Camps International teacher’s inspection visit in preparation for the student expedition next summer.
It was a very busy week, during which she experienced some of the activities and projects that students will be taking part in while they are there. This included; beadwork and making paper using elephant poo with the local Mamas, a mountain trek, visiting a Maasai Tribe, deworming goats, making bricks that would be used in the building of a school and going on an evening safari.
Starting next week, students going to Kenya will be running a tuck shop from the hatch on the main yard during break to raise money to fund their expedition.
Students can bring cash to school in order to purchase a midweek treat for themselves and to help students raise funds for their expedition. The shop will be running each week until the end of the year.
