Rugby in the Spotlight

The Year 9 rugby team played out another draw against St Aidans under the floodlights at Southmoor in the All Schools Tournament. Despite there being nothing to separate the two teams for the second game in a row the quality of the rugby on display was far greater than in the previous game. A much better defensive display from both teams saw the score limited to 25-25 instead of the previous 40-40 result that played out last time the two-schools met.

Captain on the night was Robert Cuddihy who looked in the first half to be leading his team to a run-away victory after Southmoor took an early 10-0 lead. Man of the match performance was seen from Jake Foster who scored two fantastic break away tries and was equally as effective in defence never missing a tackle all game. Special mention needs to go to Yuvraj Khaira for an excellent display and a couple of tries and David Duffield for making an impressive debut.
