On Thursday morning, we were delighted to welcome, once again, the BAE Systems, Royal Navy & RAF STEM Roadshow into school. This year’s theme is ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and our Year 7 and 8 students were able to see AI in action in this very interactive presentation.
Students were first introduced to ‘Fluffy’, the AI Robot dog, who was able to move, stand up and speak to the students. Amazingly, it was even able to look at the Hall and describe in exact detail what it could see in the Hall, even down to the herringbone flooring! The Roadshow team gave students opportunities to explore the different AI programmes that are available to use. During the presentation, all students were involved in creating the next hit song! Students gave inspiration for the lyrics, the tune, and the video, and AI was able to extrapolate all this information and create a song and music video by the end of the presentation. Students also had the chance to learn about possible future careers in AI.
