Sixth Form Open Evening 2025

We were delighted to see such a fantastic turnout at our Sixth Form Open Evening last week, as students and their families from across the region joined us to discover more about the outstanding support and opportunities we offer at The Sixth Form at Southmoor.

The event gave prospective students a real taste of what makes our Sixth Form such a popular choice for further education in the city. Guests spoke with our current students and teachers to learn more about our exceptional pastoral support, explored the wide range of subjects available, and heard directly from representatives of top universities including Newcastle, Northumbria, and Sunderland. They also met some of our Sixth Form alumni, who shared their inspiring journeys beyond Southmoor and some of the students who have participated in the mind-opening trips we took part in last year such as Kenya and New York.

Applications for entry in September 2026 are now open!
With growing interest and limited spaces, we encourage early applications to secure a place. The deadline for first applications is Friday 12th December 2025.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along — we look forward to welcoming the next generation of Sixth Form students to our community.
