On Friday, we were delighted to welcome into school local singer-songwriter Tom A Smith. Tom was recently signed to UK Record Label, Fiction, and he has been performing since the age of 8 doing open mic nights with Sam Fender. Tom has played two sell out shows at the Fire Station and has played at many UK festivals including Glastonbury, Leeds and Radio 1’s Big Weekend. He has recently been announced to be playing local legend Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics in an upcoming biopic movie about the band. Tom some of his songs for our Year 7, 8 and 9 students and then spoke to them about mental health, discrimination, and misogyny. There was also an opportunity for questions and answers. Tom shared his experiences of bullying and dealing with mental health to give advice to our young students.
