Poetry Live!
Last week we took a group of Year 11 who travelled to Harrogate Convention centre where we were amongst 1400 pupils from other schools to listen to poets discuss their work and give insight and tips into the poetry section of the GCSE literature exam. Our pupils listened to talks by Carol Ann Duffy, the current poet laureate Simon Armitage and John Agard. These sessions will prove invaluable to students’ thinking as they consider many of the poems by these authors as part of their English literature GCSE.
