This week, we were delighted to welcome a representative from the Newcastle Rugby Foundation, who visited to help promote girls’ rugby among our students.

With this being a Women’s Rugby World Cup year—and England proudly hosting the tournament, including matches right here in our city—there’s no better time to inspire the next generation of players.

To build excitement around the event, our guest coach delivered a special session to our Year 7 girls during their PE lessons, introducing them to some of the fundamental concepts of rugby. The session cleverly linked these new skills to familiar elements of netball, helping students quickly connect with the sport.

Our students embraced the opportunity with great enthusiasm and were eager to try something new. A big thank you to the Newcastle Rugby Foundation for delivering such a unique and engaging coaching session.
